Red Coral Stones are derived from the oceans and seas. They
are the product of living organisms living under the ocean. Due to their unique properties, at times fake
stones are also sold in the market. We should be aware of fake corals while
choosing. This article will help you to find whether the Red coral is fake or
Real by performing these easy tests.
- Milk test of Coral:
In order to perform this test take a glass
of milk. Now put your red coral stone in it. Since the red color of the stone
will be radiated and will be absorbed by the milk. Due to this the color of the
milk will change indicating an authentic Red Coral.
- Magnification Test:
Take a magnifying glass and put the Coral
gemstone on white cloth under the appropriate lightening conditions. Now
observe the Red coral through the glass and if you find granules on the surface
of the stone, then it is a fake red coral. But for a real Red Coral, the
surface will be even and smooth.
- Rubbing Test:
Take the gemstone and notice the sound that it
produce by rubbing or clicking with fingernail. If the sound is a glass rubbing
type of sound, then the coral is fake as the
imitation Corals are made up of glass.
- Turmeric Test:
Bring
a piece of raw turmeric and rub the gemstone with it. If you notice the red
marks on the turmeric or if turmeric changes in red color then the Coral is
fake. On the other hand if color remains same then it is an authentic Red CoralGemstone.
